Do you ever wish you could take that vacation? Or how about making more money? Lose those last 5 pounds? Oh, how about finally meeting your soul mate? Ok, where’s that magic genie?
I used to think my current situation was set in stone. Thinking the golden ticket given to me and I just had to suck it up. Those who are enjoying life to the fullest got lucky, and I will have to dream but never will attain.
The only thing you have to accept is your choice of making a change or not. If you want to see the beach, find a way to make that happen. And you really can make that happen!
I think people don’t dive in for fear of failure. Fear of “what if I let others know my ambitions and then don’t succeed?” “What will people say?” Know what, people will talk no matter what. I am so over those who keep saying “no one will notice.” Oh yes they will, but most flat-out won’t care. In fact, they’ll be your encouragement to keep going. They will be able to sympathize with you because most likely, they too have suffered some sort of failure.
There will be those who will revel in your failure. Yes, it’s true. sad, but true. The good thing though is those people are probably ones you don’t associate with and if you do, I would suggest to reevaluate your circle. You do not have to surround yourself with toxic people.
No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you’re still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying. -@prsuit
So what now? Are you wondering if it’s really worth it? Well, you have one life to live, do you want it to be fair at best? I really hope your answer isn’t yes. I really hope you want more.
3 Tips for Making a Great Change:
Stop Saying Maybe.
- Maybe means no. If you aren’t going to do it, own that. But don’t say no because you are afraid. Don’t say no because it is your knee jerk reaction. When a new opportunity is presented, go for it. Seriously. What are you waiting for?
Make a Vision Board.
- You ask any successful person out there what is one thing that helped them stay focused and determined – vision board. Get your goals front and center. See them every single day. If you aren’t sure what that looks like, think of things that make you feel alive. What do you desire? What would you like to achieve one day? Find a picture, cut it out, glue it down, see it every day.
Try Something New.
- Doing the same thing day after day will not lead you to your heart’s desire. You want something, if will require effort. It will require you to try something new. You don’t have to go get a tattoo like Ben Affleck, but breaking out of your mold is life changing, no matter how small. Try a new hairstyle, take a yoga class, attend a Meetup, take on a challenging project at work. Small steps lead toward something great.
